What Jesus Said About Your Life's Mission

What wakes you up every morning? Hopefully it's more than eating, working, having some fun, going to sleep and getting up to do it all over again. While those things may be part of your life's mission, the Lord is calling you to a higher purpose, His mission and His glory. Jesus said a lot about your life's mission. In this series, we'll look at four key components of God's important and valuable plan for your life.

September 1st | Follow His Lead | Matthew 10

As we live out our "career," we ask ourselves, "what is this all about?" That's the beauty of following Jesus' leadership of your life. He reveals a calling that gives you eternal purpose. Jesus sent out His key followers to lead people to Him and to God. No matter your abilities or occupation, you also have the opportunity to follow His lead. To prepare, read Matthew 10.

September 8th | Hold Friends Accountable | Matthew 18:15-17

Jesus was honest with His followers. Relationships can sometimes get messy and conflict can arise. In addition, other Christ-followers can fail in their walk with Him as they relate to you. What did Jesus have to say about someone sinning against you? How does my response to them fit into His mission for me? To prepare, read Matthew 18:15-17.

September 15th | Serve | John 13:1-17

Jesus not only told His disciples how to live for God, He modeled it. On His last night before His crucifixion, Jesus did something totally unexpected. To some, it was even offensive. But He set the example for all of us to follow as we live out His mission for our lives. To prepare, read John 13:1-17.

September 22nd | Forgive | Matthew 18:21-34

It's one thing to receive the forgiveness of Jesus. It's another thing to offer that same forgiveness to someone else who has hurt you. When we consider our life's mission, our ultimate calling is to reflect the Spirit of Christ that lives within us. When we demonstrate forgiveness, we have the opportunity to point people to the One Who offers forgiveness to all. To prepare, read Matthew 18:21-34.

September 29th | Produce Fruit | John 15:1-17

Youth Pastor Nathan York

Before His crucifixion, Jesus taught His disciples that they would be recognized by the "fruit" that their life produced. Part of our mission in life is to point people to Him with this fruit. The "fruit" is evidence of a changed life that can only come about by remaining connected to Jesus, obeying Him, and loving as He showed us to love. To prepare, read John 15:1-17.
